So, while corn and wood chip ethanol plants are closing monthly, we give federal grants to build the next generation of untested biofuel plants for production of a product we don't want or need.

So far, studies have shown we've spent $25 billion to replace 2 percent of the gasoline used while adding more pollution to the environment, raising food costs and increasing the national debt. For all of this Machiavellian thinking you get to pay an extra $1.95 for each gallon of gas you buy.

And as an added bonus, our EPA has plans to raise ethanol percentages from 10 percent to 15 percent. If you want to lower the national debt, get rid of this boondoggle.
