Ruin looms on carbon tax, warns Bluescope boss | Herald Sun
BUSINESS leaders ratcheted up their campaign against the Federal Government's carbon tax yesterday as Prime Minister Julia Gillard warned her party faced a tough battle to push through the proposal.

In an address to the National Press Club, Bluescope Steel chairman and Reserve Bank board member Graham Kraehe predicted "huge economic consequences" if the Federal Government pursued its "simplistic green agenda".

And National Farmers' Federation president Jock Laurie warned that the carbon tax would endanger the livelihoods of Australia's 140,000 farmers through increased costs.
