Sadly, fear is what we are hearing most loudly now. From the opposition, in the printed press and on the airwaves.

Fear wins poll results. Fear sells papers and heightens ratings.

But fear cannot lead a nation. Fear cannot take a people anywhere but backwards or to anything but disaster.

As long as I am Prime Minister, I pledge that I will lead with courage, not fear.

I pledge that I will not give into the fear mongering, the naysayers and the ‘can’t-dos’. I will fight them and I will shut them out.
