Christopher Monckton to face activist heat | The Australian
CHRISTOPHER Monckton may not believe in global warming but he will feel the heat when he speaks to the National Press Club in Canberra next Tuesday.

Left-wing activist group GetUp! has booked 100 seats for the function, more than one-third of the club's 280-seat capacity.

Lord Monckton will debate economist Richard Denniss, head of the left-leaning Australia Institute think tank at the function.

The institute confirmed it had further stacked the floor against the climate sceptic, booking two 10-seat tables of its own.

With bookings standing at 130 yesterday afternoon, and support for a carbon tax running far higher in the capital than the rest of the nation, Lord Monckton could find the room against him.
