One person said that many of the regulations coming out of Washington via the EPA are based on hype and not proven scientific fact.

“The common denomination in all of this is the misconception that global warming is caused by CO2,” one man said, adding that elevated carbon dioxide levels are probably a byproduct of naturally occurring global warming.

“We need the EPA to back off,” another businessman said.

One man said he had to lay off 28 people who were steel cutters because of EPA regulations.

“Now we no longer cut steel,” he said, noting that those jobs are now done overseas.
