Arctic Update II | Climate Etc.
What is going on with sea ice does not follow in lock step what is going on with surface temperature.
THE HOCKEY SCHTICK: Why changing sea ice and glaciers do not indicate man-made global warming
ICE sheets grow and shrink. At times, they disappear. At other times, ice starts to cover polar areas and high mountains. That's what ice has done over the history of our planet. The Greenland and Antarctic basins are more than 1km deep, and deeper in the centres than around the edges, so that ice is squeezed uphill like toothpaste out of a tube by the weight of overlying ice. The alarmist media stresses that changing sea ice and continental glaciers indicate rapid global warming. Is this really so?

Authorities still were reporting snow drifts of up to 10 feet high in southeast Colorado
'Green Deal' Will Fail, Government's Climate Advisers Warn
The government's flagship programme to transform the energy efficiency of 14m homes in the next decade will fail and only reach only 2-3m households, according to an unprecedented attack from the government's own climate advisers.
A Sharp Temperature Rise Predicted
It actually concludes that less than one per cent of the warming since 1950 could be due to non-anthropogenic factors, such as ocean cycles, volcanoes and solar influences.
...So whilst this interesting work is not the last word in identifying the human signature in climate change it does make predictions for the future. The researchers predict a sharp rise in annual average global temperatures starting almost immediately. Looking at their curves the rise should be somewhat larger than the ENSO and La Nina variations we have seen in the past decade, so it should quick and obvious if it takes place or not.
