Email 1057, June 2009, "Tom": "[Hansen] warms the trend in 42 percent of the urban stations indicating that nearly half have an urban cold bias"

Email 1057
Jim Hansen adjusts his urban stations (based on night-lights) to nearby rural stations, but if I recall correctly (I'll send that paper shortly), he warms the trend in 42 percent of the urban stations indicating that nearly half have an urban cold bias.

How's that for pulling a rabbit out of the hat! For years we argued about the UHI effect on the temperature records. Now clever Jimmy has discovered the UCI effect. A few more adjustments to far northern station data and the temperature record will soon match the model output. Then they will not have to keep moving the confirmatory goal posts ever few years.
