Global Warming Alarmism Points To Bad Karma For Your Tax Dollars - Forbes

The Fisker Karma exemplifies the inherent problem with “alternative energy”.  Namely, what is alternative energy an alternative to?  It is an alternative to energy sources that make economic sense.  If an alternative energy project were capable of producing energy that was worth more than it costs, it would not need taxpayer subsidies.

Penn State should not give Michael Mann a forum on global warming - mcall.com

Mann's own emails, which became public, show him admitting that global warming science is still far from settled and, even worse, conspiring with his environmental alarmist cronies to intimidate and silence those scientists and editors who dared to publish any article opposing the alarmist dogma of the evangelical church of the global warming crisis.

When Penn State should be doing everything possible to regain its status as a bastion of truth and integrity, the last thing it should be doing is supporting someone of such questionable scientific ethics and political motives with our dollars. There is no place for this brand of extreme political activism, disguised as academics, at Penn State. University leadership should be ashamed for continuing to provide Mann with such high visibility — at our expense.

One, I see "alternative energy" in the same light I see "alternative medicine." If it truly worked well, it would be mainstream medicine in a heartbeat.

Two, Penn State should simply require Michael Mann to publicly debate his science. Put up or shut up, Mike. If Penn State backs him, they should at least require him to show us all that he can clean any skeptic's clock in a debate. The fact that they don't push him may say more than we realize. Unless he puts his money where his mouth is, he'll become a laughing stock, which he already has in some scientific quarters comprised of his own peers as we read in Climategate II.
