Psycho Gleick | Real Science

Steve McIntyre published the sequence of E-mails where Gleick was invited to debate, turned Heartland down, committed several felonies, and then told the press that he just wanted an honest debate.

It is an amazing read, and gives a good look at how incredibly disgusting the people behind this scam are.

My warning about Gleick to the NCSE « the Air Vent

It is about a warning I gave to the NCSE on the extremism of Peter Gleick — well before his recent flame out.

Global Extinction: Gradual Doom as Bad as Abrupt | ThinkProgress

The world revealed by their research is a devastated landscape, barren of vegetation and scarred by erosion from showers of acid rain, huge “dead zones” in the oceans, and runaway greenhouse warming leading to sizzling temperatures.

The evidence that Algeo and his colleagues are looking at points to massive volcanism in Siberia as a factor.

Comet Gleick « the Air Vent

The Peter Gleick story continues on.  An anonymous reader left a link to a Washinton post article indicating that the FBI has been contacted on the matter.  Whether they react may be the subject of a “high level directive” at this point.

The only people who compare this to Climategate are those sold on the Mannian “cause”.   This was an activist, committing fraud, alleging snail-mail reciept of a document which I fully believe he wrote, who was caught pretending to be a Heartland board member to gain access to any document he could which would put them in a bad light.   The liberal press had joined in the chorus full bore, despite the lack of damning evidence like “hide the decline” and now has failed to retract or apologize for any of it.

Mr. Worthing: FBI called in?

Keker [Gleick's lawyer] added, “Dr. Gleick looks forward to using discovery to understand more about the veracity of the documents, lay bare the implications of Heartland’s propaganda plans and, in particular, determine once and for all who is truly behind Heartland and why.”

The law must be a different animal in the US then. Discovery in my part of the world doesn't lead to such information. Discovery is about the offense, not about Gleick's beliefs and desires and not about Heartland's plans or funding. You can't use discovery to aggravate the initial offence.
