The question US taxpayers - and politicians - should ask themselves: Why on earth keep on financing a life in luxury for this French lady, who is reciprocating with demands of higher taxes for ordinary citizens?

Doomed panel sends Harper "reality check" on global warming

The report, entitled Reality Check: The state of climate progress in Canada, actually was requested last year by Environment Minister Peter Kent, who recently decided to eliminate the round table and its annual budget of $5 million.

The panel, with a staff of about 30 people, was created in 1988 by the government of former prime minister Brian Mulroney to bring together advice on conservation and business policies.

Ostrom graduated from Beverly Hills High School in 1951 and then received a B.A. (with honors) in political science at UCLA, in 1954. She was awarded an M.A. in 1962 and a PhD in 1965, both from UCLA Department of Political Science.

She married political scientist Vincent Ostrom in 1963.[7]
