Energy Tribune- Cold Hard Fact: Antarctic Sea Ice is at Record High
There is more frozen ocean surrounding Antarctica than has ever been measured. That’s right, after all the shouting and hand waving about the new record low amount of sea ice in the Arctic this summer, Antarctic sea ice has ballooned to a new record high. Mother Nature does seem to have an interesting sense of humor when it comes to the freezing of sea water. Back in 2007 the amount of sea ice left over at the end of the summer in the Arctic at the top of the world was the lowest since the satellite measurements began in 1979. At the same time the amount of sea ice surrounding Antarctica at the bottom of the world set a new record for the most sea ice. That record large amount of ice got almost no attention, all the talk was about how little ice was left in the Arctic at the end of the melt season. Advance five years later to 2012 and the same thing has happened again. We have record low ice extent in the Arctic and record large ice extent surrounding Antarctica. Who knew that Mother Nature has such a bemusing sense of humor!
TONY HETHERINGTON: Our home put at risk by a carbon credit cowboy | This is Money
R.S.writes: I am concerned that Carbon Commodities Consulting (CCC) may have been acting in a fraudulent manner, and my investment has been lost. Director Mark Blyth visited me and my wife at home to discuss investing in carbon credits linked to a project in Kenya.

We agreed to invest £52,500 at £15 per credit and were assured we would see a return within eight weeks by selling our credits at £20 each. We paid Mr Blyth’s company, but months later the carbon credits have still not materialised.
Big solar is [allegedly] an answer to the [alleged] climate emergency | Green Left Weekly
Port Augusta in South Australia is the centre of a momentous campaign to replace the two ageing coal-fired power stations there with renewable energy. This is possible with six solar thermal power stations with storage and 90 wind turbines. This combination could replace the energy output of the coal-fired plants, providing 24-hour baseload power.
