The orgy of greed spoiling our countryside: why I campaigned in Corby – Telegraph Blogs
The Yorkshire moorland that inspired Wuthering Heights is about to be blighted by nine 377ft wind turbines, each one the height of Salisbury Cathedral.

Do you need to be a rabid, bat-crazy, monomaniacal, classical liberal loon to find this upsetting? I hope not, I really do. The vandalisation of Ovenden Moor, near Haworth, in the heart of Brontë country should concern us all, regardless of which way we vote or what newspaper we read.
The New Nostradamus of the North: President of UN climate talks: Shale gas will ensure global energy security for the next 300 years
Finally, the UN Climate Change talks have a President - Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, deputy Prime Minister of Qatar - who seems to know what he is talking about:
BBC: The most curious piece of evidence of institutional AGW bias | Omnologos
I’m currently on the second volume of the BBC’s Active Talk Italian Course. The two books and CD companions contain some bizarre diversions, Talk Italian 2 (2007) especially so. This volume is rich fare for those convinced that the BBC is governed by a liberal-left cabal, aging hippies and proselytising environmentalists.

The section in Talk Italian 2 on telling the time casually envisages a scenario of ‘Jorge’ and ‘Alessandro’ co-ordinating a meeting at a climate-change conference
NY Times reporter asks President question that NY Times deems not newsworthy
As to the post’s title, an interesting tidbit on the President’s press conference: the New York Times Washington Bureau evidently didn’t consider their own reporter’s question to be newsworthy as the Times’ report on the press conference is silent on climate issues.

This is great! James Delingpole was secretly taped by Greenpeace! (quote) The closing stages of the campaign were overshadowed by revelations that the Tory campaign manager, Chris Heaton-Harris, had encouraged a friend, journalist James Delingpole, to stand against the party candidate, Christine Emmett, on an anti-wind farm ticket.

The MP was forced to apologise after the alleged plot emerged in a video secretly recorded by Greenpeace. (unquote)
