Ed Whitfield (R., Ky.), chairman of the House Subcommittee on Energy and Power, who has coal-fired plants in his district, said such a move would be a "serious misstep" and added, "We're going to be very aggressive in letting them know that if they try to start doing this with existing plants, they're going to have a real battle on their hands."
