I'm confused again: If the climate has truly been stable throughout human existence, then why did the climate change rapidly during the Middle Stone Age?

Development of Middle Stone Age innovation linked to rapid climate change : Nature Communications

The book you want is Paleoclimate and Evolution, With Emphasis on Human Origins, edited by Elisabeth S. Vrba, 1995.

After reading this book, I signed up for an M.S. in Earth science. Good read. If your library does not have it they can borrow it for you via interlibrary loan. You can browse it in Google Books.
