Scientific evidence conclusively shows hurricanes, and particularly hurricane strikes in the U.S. Northeast, are becoming less frequent and less severe as the planet modestly warms.

The case seems to be that because modellers do a lot of testing against historic data we should trust the models. Not convincing at all, in my opinion.
