Global warming alarmists working for the federal government’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration embarrassed themselves yesterday attempting to blame global warming for Hurricane Sandy. Scientific evidence conclusively shows hurricanes, and particularly hurricane strikes in the U.S. Northeast, are becoming less frequent and less severe as the planet modestly warms.

There are 862 US HCN stations which have been continuously active since at least 1930. The average summer maximum temperature has dropped almost 1.5ºF since 1930 at those stations. The summer of 2012 barely cracked the top ten. The summer of 2013 had the 13th coolest afternoons since 1930.

The case seems to be that because modellers do a lot of testing against historic data we should trust the models. Not convincing at all, in my opinion.
