Live stream today: Well-known climate hoax reporters to talk about "what approaches can be taken to galvanize a public where climate denial and apathy run rampant"

SXSW ECO Schedule
[4:30pm Central Time today; features Mooney/Sheppard/Plait/Goldenberg] This conversation, featuring some of the most active and reputable climate reporters around, will not shy away from the tough question of how the media at large has failed in its reporting on climate change, and ask why there isn’t broader interest – from the media, politicians, and public – in understanding and addressing the climate crisis. Despite substantial evidence that climate change is worsening – and rapidly – many news organizations have scaled back their environmental reporting. Others continue to feature discredited “skeptic” voices.

The panelists will discuss this trend, how the media can do a better job in reporting climate change beyond covering extreme weather events, and what approaches can be taken to galvanize a public where climate denial and apathy run rampant.

Presented by Mother Jones. This panel will be live streamed on sxsweco.com, motherjones.com, and climatedesk.org
