American Thinker: The Meat and Potatoes of Child Indoctrination
Of course, no question was raised about whether distressing children to the point of causing them to want to change their diet to reduce their carbon footprint is abusively inappropriate.Georgia: WEATHER: Hard freeze tonight; freeze watch in place Friday through Saturday
There is no talk on the morning shows on how to counter the information being fed to the children. There is no talk about the many scientists who believe that the global warming scare is a big fat hoax and real science is proving what we've always known -- the earth's climate is cyclical and depends on many inalterable factors, including the weather patterns of the sun. There is no talk of reassuring children that many people (in fact, most Americans) believe that God created many kinds of animals to provide meat for dinner and it is not unethical to avail yourself of a tasty steak -- and that it's okay to go Outback tonight.
The National Weather Service has issued a hard freeze warning from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. Friday morning.Show me the global warming: Bitter cold causes problems in Missouri
Temperatures are forecast to drop to the low to mid-20s. A hard freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.
Temperatures in St. Louis bottomed out at zero in the pre-dawn hours Thursday, the coldest reading here in eight years. Hours later, Davis, 51, shivered alongside a downtown wall as he recalled making it through the night with some help from strangers.
"People gave me blankets and food," Davis said. "I had about 15 covers on me. I slept under this parking garage, where the wind came in only one direction. It was pretty rough. I can deal with it. But it's hard."
The arctic freeze that has hammered the upper Midwest in recent days made its way to Missouri. The northern portion of the state was hardest hit, said Thomas Spriggs, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service.
Small towns like Green City and Unionville saw readings of 13 below zero. Lancaster was at 12 below, Kirksville 10 below. Other parts of the state bottomed out in temperatures ranging from low single digits to a few degrees below zero.
