Florida tomato supply gap to hit markets in March
(Feb. 12, 10:25 a.m.) IMMOKALEE, Fla. — Buyers should expect fewer Florida tomatoes and a supply gap in March.

A Feb. 5 freeze — the second in as many weeks —in the state’s southwest growing region is expected to create a seven to 10-day supply gap by mid-March and delay Immokalee’s spring deal by a couple of weeks.
...
Chuck Weisinger, president and chief executive officer of Fort Myers-based Weis-Buy Farms Inc., estimated Immokalee-area crops suffered about 80% damage while those south of Immokalee in the Naples growing region likely sustained 30% to 35% damage.

“Anything near harvest or harvest-ready is gone,” he said Feb. 11. “Anything that was in Immokalee and north is gone.”
RTÉ News: Wilson climate change row escalates
Mr Wilson outraged environmentalists throughout the UK when he censored the broadcast of the Act On Co2 campaign labelling it as insidious propaganda.

But defiant students involved in running the radio station at Queen's, which broadcasts on 1134mw, claimed they were ready to hit back on the airwaves.

They also challenged him to a public debate on the issue.

Friends of the Earth and the Greens can attack Sammy Wilson as much as they like but his analysis on climate change is dead right and they are wrong.
