A source who attended the meeting, speaking to The Press on condition of anonymity, said there was real concern in the room – especially from Saudi Arabia and Egypt – about New Zealand's stance that it did not want extra meetings to be held on the Kyoto Protocol negotiating track.Letter - Views on Climate Change - What the Polls Show - NYTimes.com
"That move was interpreted that New Zealand wanted to kill Kyoto," the source said.

There are many different questions about climate change, none of them perfect, but almost all, except Mr. Krosnick’s, show a significant decline in belief in climate change. Pew Research not only found fewer in 2009 seeing solid evidence of global warming, but also fewer calling it a very serious problem and fewer naming warming a top priority for the president and Congress.Obama: Gulf spill 'echoes 9/11' - POLITICO.com Print View

“What the public wants to see is us solving this problem. And that may not make for good TV. Me sitting in a meeting with [Energy] Secretary [Steven] Chu and [Gulf national incident commander] Thad Allen and looking over maps and figuring out how boom gets someplace, that’s not something that is high theater. But ultimately that’s going to make the biggest difference in terms of whether or not the Gulf recovers.”

More word games. If the Oil Spill were like 9-11, Giuliani would have let 3000 bodies rot in downtown Manhattan, left all the blown to bits buildings and broken glass sit there, and talked about kicking the airlines involved in the Ass. And that they would have to pay every penny for clean up. P.S. Giuliani went to every funeral of workers who died, Obama skipped the only funeral I heard about.
It's beguiling to think that the boom locations are to be chosen by an ex-lawyer, an admiral and a physicist. Surely such decisions are below their pay grades?
