EU to Consider Limits to UN Excess Emission Rights, Draft Shows - Bloomberg

European Union countries will next month discuss restrictions on United Nations emissions permits
after 2012 that may include limits on sales and the use of revenue from excess rights, according to a draft EU document.

The BBC World Service covered Fakegate this morning, interviewing Bob Ward and Mike McPhadden, the president of the AGU.

Considering the post-Jones-report choice of guests, the coverage was not too bad. We could have done with some challenge of the dark mutterings about "disturbing revelations" from the documents though. I was interested in McPhadden's description of the tumult at the AGU and their desire for public trust.

I see Peter Gleick, the man who obtained and leaked the devastating documents from the Heartland Institute, as a democratic hero. I do not think he should have apologised, nor do I believe that his job should be threatened. He has done something of benefit to society.
