Following his first public appearance since the story broke, Kerry tried to dash off to his SUV but was intercepted by reporters who asked about the yacht controversy.
A March 22, 2005, USA Today article detailed a vacation the Kerrys took on Heinz-Kerry’s private jet to a ski resort where her late husband had a private cabin. (Her private jet, “The Flying Squirrel” was apparently named for a ski trail there). That story wasn’t covered on ABC, CBS or NBC.Flashback: Polite society anticipates Teresa's pizazz - Washington Times
She owns five luxury homes and a private plane, The Flying Squirrel. Mrs. Kerry’s fortune — now estimated at $1.2 billion — has been her passport to a world of privilege and power far beyond that of the average political wife.

Sounds a bit like good old Al.
Surely the happy couple's yacht is a sailing vessel, right? You know, renewable energy power and all that. Certainly such a contientious, progressive lifestyle has no place for one of those empty-Kuwait-into-my-tank sort of ostentatious motor yachts, right? If they have any class at all it's a gorgeous ship built from renewable forest products. I'm sure they compost all of their caviar leftovers before they toss them in the water, too.
Why is it the rich think they have more knowledge of things important to this planet than normal, working people? I assume their thinking is centered around what will benefit them.
He is the very model of a modern Major-Liberal.
Parma, his yacht actually is a sailing vessel.

Curiously enough, this type of yacht is also made by world-class American companies such as Hinckley and Little Harbour. It seems a bit tactless of someone serving our country to buy a foreign yacht when first-rate American companies are highly competitive.
There was a big stink about that a few years ago: he bought foreign to avoid MA taxes. And then moored it in Rhode Island for the same reason.
So add a second level of hypocrisy: another rich asshat who insists "The rich don't pay their fair share" while actively avoiding any tax he can.
