2012 Didn’t Crack The Top Ten For Record Maximums | Real Science
NOAA has inflated the 2012 record maximum number by adding new stations which didn’t exist during the hot years of the 1930s. That is a completely illegitimate approach, suitable only for government workers.

An apples to apples comparison uses only the same stations. When that is done, 2012 doesn’t even crack the ten hottest years.

But that wasn’t going to scare anyone out of their money, so they simply altered the data. The graph below shows the difference between today’s NCDC published US temperatures, and the thermometer data which it is based on.

They claim that 2012 is the warmest year by almost a degree, and they accomplished that by subtracting a degree from the hot years of the 1920s and 1930s.
Climate Conversation Group » Greens win, so Tasmania burns
Greens conveniently blame climate change. They pretend imposing a carbon tax or destroying the coal industry will prevent bushfires, while reducing the actual fuel which powers the flames is “futile”.

Despite the lessons which should have been learned in Victoria in 2009, the fuel in Tasmania’s forests has been allowed to build up because of Green opposition to fuel reduction burns, which they call “outdated, old school” and a “horrible blight”.
