With just four years to stabilise carbon emissions, says the organisation 10:10, the images are intended as a challenge to the 'no pressure' attitude - repeated in each of the scenes - too often displayed by governments and individuals alike:

"There is a shrinking time frame for action on climate change," claims the film, "We hope this mini-movie will get you talking, get you fired up, but most of all inspire you".

Despite this however, many people, including those in favour of cutting carbon emissions feel either bullied or sickened by the film. Others, meanwhile, see the funny side and believe the mini-movie is just what is needed to kick-start people and politicians into reducing their carbon footprint.

The movie goes on release on Saturday October 2nd and will be shown in cinemas and on British television.

For a fringe campaign, 10:10 has been remarkably successful. Around 100,000 people from 152 countries have signed up. British Prime Minister David Cameron has pledged the entire British government to participate. Large companies are associated with 10:10, including Britain’s Royal Mail, the electronics giant Sony, and Facebook. The United Nations-backed Climate Neutral Network is one of its many “partner” organisations. The World Wildlife Fund for Nature and Greenpeace are supporters through their proxy the Global Campaign for Climate Action.

So 10:10 is not a fringe organization. They’re widely trusted in the global climate activist community. Whether these adherents will now denounce the campaign for its tasteless exercise in arrogance and sadism remains to be seen. Let’s hope so, but it seems unlikely for the following reason.

But none of this is the fault of those who whip up the frenzy and the furor of those stupid enough to believe their hyperbole, enough to do something vicious, cruel, stupid or illegal.

So I guess I can’t blame hysterics like Romm and McKibben, who spend their days babbling about hell and high water and related mystical miseries, for any of the troubles we’ve seen. Except for the kids who will be downloading that video tonight. Both William Golding (Lord of the Flies) and J.M. Barrie (Peter Pan) knew full well that children need no help in being cruel. But this gives them license and legitimacy. And for that, Joe and Bill, I do hold you responsible. You sent the message first–it took years for 10:10 to make it explicit.

Indeed it may be as significant as November 17, 2009, the date the Climategate scandal broke out. (The exact date may be a day or two later).

Alone the video appears to some viewers as just another twisted Hollywood type of production one would expect from Robert Rodrigues or Quentin Tarantino, with some injection of morbid humour. But it is now becoming the straw that may break the enviro-activist backbone.

The problem with the 10:10 No Pressure clip is that no Oxburgh commission will be able to whitewash the graphic pictures away.

The gory and bloody pictures of exploding sceptic kids serve to underscore a trend that has been long been in development. It focuses the spotlight on a pattern of violence and intolerance that now is running rampant through the entire environmental movement.

Activists have resorted to intimidation, persecution and villification of sceptics who do not agree with the doomsday scenarios of catastrophic climate change. Examples have piled up over the years. Now the chickens are coming home to roost.

The FEMC (Facilities Engineering Maintenance and Construction) crew is probably the busiest group with the station opening work as they have to get fuel to all the buildings and start heating them up so they are ready when the summer folks arrive. Our heavy equipment operators are busy as well removing snow and beginning to smooth out the skiway for the first flights. They have had a little bit of trouble due to the cold temperatures because they cannot operate the bulldozers under certain temps.

Today we put up a mini-movie about 10:10 and climate change called 'No Pressure’.

With climate change becoming increasingly threatening, and decreasingly talked about in the media, we wanted to find a way to bring this critical issue back into the headlines whilst making people laugh. We were therefore delighted when Britain's leading comedy writer, Richard Curtis - writer of Blackadder, Four Weddings, Notting Hill and many others – agreed to write a short film for the 10:10 campaign. Many people found the resulting film extremely funny, but unfortunately some didn't and we sincerely apologise to anybody we have offended.

As a result of these concerns we've taken it off our website.

We'd like to thank the 50+ film professionals and 40+ actors and extras and who gave their time and equipment to the film for free. We greatly value your contributions and the tremendous enthusiasm and professionalism you brought to the project.
